Executive Board Member of the Online Writing Centers Association (OWCA), an international network of specialists in online writing instruction. He is also a philosopher with international work on the question “What is religion?” and research on how it differs from scientific thinking. In fall 2025, he delivered a seminar for university faculty at Hiroshima Shudo University titled “What Generative AI Can Do: Applications in Education.” He developed this app while exploring how scientific thinking can spread in society.
The design and educational effects of this app were reported at the Japan Association for College and University Education (2025) in a study titled "Possibilities of an Online Academic Writing Learning System."
